Hi all,

This week I came across an article by Patrick Maier who reflects on the connections between humanitarian agencies and new information and communication technologies.


Though a bit suspicious about the commercial side of the quick penetration of these technologies I think that humanitarians should keep a close eye to real changes and possibilities on the field

One of the more exciting innovations in the response to humanitarian crises of recent years has been the use of cash.  Across the humanitarian sector there is growing recognition that cash and voucher transfers can support people affected by disasters in ways that maintain human dignity, provide access to food and shelter and help rebuild or protect livelihoods.
